A clear separation between MedHall and the third-party AI providers it works with.
Gemini Access Is 18+ Only
Gemini-powered features on MedHall (including tool analysis, MedHall Brain, and the voice and image features) are restricted to users aged 18 or older. Before the first Gemini request, MedHall asks you to confirm that you are 18+. That confirmation is your own self-confirmation: MedHall does not verify your identity or your age and collects no personal information for it, and the Gemini API is called with your own API key from your own browser.
MedHall vs. Providers
MedHall is an independent educational platform. It does not own or control third-party AI providers, their models, infrastructure, or policies.
Provider Responsibilities
Providers are responsible for their availability, outages, pricing, account limits, moderation, model behavior, retention policies, data processing, security incidents, API changes, rate limits, and service quality.
When You Connect Your Own Key
Using an external provider means interacting with that provider's systems under its own policies. You should review the provider's terms and privacy policy.
Provider Links
MedHall currently integrates with Google AI Studio (Gemini API) for its AI tools. Relevant official policies: Google AI Terms (https://ai.google.dev/terms) and Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) apply to your use of the provider's services. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) governs the hosting platform's processing of standard technical data.
Audio and Voice Processing
Voice transcription and natural read-aloud voices on MedHall are provided by Google AI Studio (Gemini API) when you use your own key; Google's terms and privacy policy apply to that processing. When browser-local speech services or text-to-speech are used instead, everything stays on your device. See the Provider Links section above for the relevant official policies.
YouTube and Video Search
The video-finder tool searches public video platforms — primarily YouTube, using the official YouTube Data API v3 with YOUR OWN Google API key in BYOK mode, with public open-source instances (Piped) as a fallback — and links to videos hosted by those platforms. MedHall does not host, upload, embed, or store any video. When you open or play a video, the platform's own terms, privacy policy, and data practices apply. Google's YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) are the relevant official policies.
Browser Local Services
Some voice features use your browser's built-in speech recognition and text-to-speech capabilities. When these local services are used, the audio and speech data stay on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. When voice processing is instead handled by the AI provider you connect with your own key, that provider's policies apply as described above. The same applies to any other browser-provided capability used by the site (for example, clipboard access and local file reading), which stays on your device.
